Illusions – The Art of Magic

This exhibition explores the evolution of magic as a performing art at a time that included the famous escape artist Harry Houdini and female magician, Adelaide Hermann. It will feature more than 55 colourful and stylized posters from the Allan Slaight Collection of the McCord Museum. The exhibition also highlights how magicians learn their secrets, the role of women in magic, and the appropriation of culture for advertising.
